PFE plants and customers at Chelsea

Posted in Media and Publicity on 25 May 2011

It’s the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show this week, probably the most prestigious horticultural event in the world. Some of our customers and some of our plants are at the show. If you’re visiting, take a look and say hello!

Rosy Hardy of Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants is the breeder of Gaura Ruby Ruby and Linaria Freefolk Piccolo. She has won first prize in the best new plant competition, as well as a gold medal for her display, which features Geum Totally Tangerine, bred by Tim Crowther.

Downderry Nursery, owned by Simon Charlesworth, is a breeder of exciting new Lavandula varieties. We are working with Simon on some great new plants for the future (but you will have to wait to find out more!). Simon has won a silver-gilt medal for his display which features Lavandula With Love from Australia.

And on the subject of Australian plants, the Australian Garden at Chelsea is promoting a list of ten Aussie plants that can be grown successfully in the UK, which includes Dianella caerulea Cassa Blue, a recent addition to the PFE portfolio, from the Ozbreed programme. Young plants are already available in Europe of this variety.

Contact us if you would like any more information on these plants.
