FlowerTrials® 2026: What to expect

Posted in Industry NewsNew Plants on 02 June 2026

One week until FlowerTrials®!

The first two trolleys of plants have made it to Lisse, Ross from WFM Print has delivered our posters and leaflets, the car is (almost) packed, and we are ready to hit the road and build our exhibition stand.

So, we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek of what you can expect to see, including some of the new plants we’ll be exhibiting this year.

If you’re still uncertain whether to come, or if FlowerTrials® is for you, check out Michael Perry’s FlowerTrials® piece on how to make the most of your trip.

And it’s not too late to register – the event itself is free! Secure your ticket here.

New plants to discover

For our second year of exhibiting at FlowerTrials®, we’re bringing a great mix of patio/bedding and perennial plants for you to discover. Our stand will feature over 20 brand new varieties, including several series.

The breeders we represent are at the cutting edge of plant breeding, raising plants that feature genuine improvements for both growers and consumers. Visit our stand and you can expect progress across variety resilience, habit, flower quality and size, colour and fragrance, as well as overall appeal and aesthetic.

Our varieties are selected for long-term performance in the market, so pop along for a cup of tea and a delicious biscuit while we show you our latest plants. We can’t wait to introduce you to your next best-seller.

New in Patio/Bedding

First up, we have new Coleus breeding: three new colours to join the award-winning Skeletal®. Plus, the quirky new Coleus Gothica™ series – you won’t believe the colours! All featuring improved branching and resilience.

Discover also a stunning, winter-hardy Dianthus series, which Michael Perry described as “A living bouquet”.

New in Perennials

Introducing Nepeta EarliBlue, which is simply better in every way, from improved weather-tolerance to dense flower-heads. We’ll also have our compact Agapanthus AtomicBloom™ series, perfect for smaller spaces. Plus, discover Euphorbia Va Va Voom™, which features stunning habit and branching, with vivid blooms.

All this and so much more!

Meet the breeder: Rick Grazzini

Visit us on 10th June at 14.30-16.30, and meet the wonderful, master-breeder Rick Grazzini, of GardenGenetics®. Rick will be on the PFE stand to join us in welcoming our visitors, and will be taking questions about his varieties, his breeding house, and what the future of plant breeding holds for the industry.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect to hear from Rick: “The new and experimental varieties on display during FlowerTrials represent some of the most innovative breeding I have done, yet these are also just the beginning of the breeding projects they represent. Coleus Skeletal®, for example, will create a new market segment; medium vigor, novel foliage shape, perfect for smaller containers and mixed containers.

My latest Coleus breeding, which is represented by Plants for Europe outside of North America is sun-tolerant, densely-branched to be self-supporting, extremely late-flowering, and strongly tolerant to infection by the coleus downy mildew pathogen.”

Join us on the stand on 10th June at 14.30-16.30 to hear more.

Free tickets still available

FlowerTrials® is the most shareable week of the year. The best place to discover the cutting edge of plant breeding, it is a must-see for anyone working in horticulture. Whether grower, retailer, journalist or influencer, there is something for you. The show is free to attend, and there’s still time to register – we’ll see you there!
