Plant Variety Rights cover the propagation, sale, distribution and marketing of plants and propagating material of the variety to which they apply. So there is nothing to stop you taking photographs of a specimen, displaying the photos and selling them, either online or in the real world. Of course, if any of your clients were to use the images in the course of promoting illegal sale or distribution of the plant, that would be an illegal act. However, my understanding of the law is that they would be responsible for that, not you. As a service to your customers, it might be helpful for you to highlight plant varieties that you sell photos of to which Plant Variety Rights apply.
